For over 15 years Daria Wright has been a licensed hairstylist/cosmetologist . Wright was quickly recognized for her outstanding knowledge and expertise. 

Her professional hair advice has been quoted in various print publications such as      “ The Mocha Manual To A Fabulous Pregnancy ”,” Heart and Soul ” , “ Women’s World ” magazine, etc. Wright also contributes for the online magazines “ Poisemag.com ” and “ Essence.com ”.

Wright celebrity hairstylist turned beauty guru has a genuine passion for all things beauty, particularly as they relate to hair care. Throughout her career, Wright has owned a beauty salon, been a cosmetology instructor and worked alongside several beauty industry legends.

With a flair for writing as well, Wright decided to parlay her hair expertise into writing beauty advice articles.  Wright  decided it was time to bring her wealth of experience to the internet by starting her own online hair care magazine. Through this website it possible to reach an even greater audience of black women who need guidance and reliable hair care information from a trained professional.

She thought up  the name Straight To The Root because her aim is to address the underlying  issues facing women of color and hairstyling.
